From 2005 to 2007 development projects initiated by the Foundation in Guatemala were concentrated in the town of San Juan Alotenango-Sacatepèquez.
During the year 2008 a change of the Municipal Council occurred. Shortly thereafter a popular uprising shifted the attention to security issues. Necessarily, the activity of the Foundation had to be reduced in Alotenango, but it has been extended to neighboring towns such as San Antonio Aguas Calientes and Santa Catarina Barahona. Cooperation with groups in Colombia was recently initiated.
