Architectonical Projects
3. Impact of the Projects

The restoration projects aimed to stimulate an appreciation of the historical events and traditions. However, it is not evident that the potential cultural impact of the projects has been greatly stimulated. The examples described above reveal that considerations of a practical economical or even religious nature are too often prevailing. For instance, many citizen including the Mayor, would agree that it is inappropriate to keep a latrine in front of a 17th century church. However, removing the latrine would affect the catholic-evangelist coexistence. Therefore, the impact of architectonical restoration might not be a relevant one, if too unbalanced socio-economic conditions prevail.
