Advanced education projects
2. Current Activities 2020-2024

Some words about Prof. Alberto Ciferri.

In November 2024 we lost our teacher-mentor who had supported educational programs for Kazakhstani specialists since 1998. Prof. Alberto Ciferri and the Jepa-Limmat Foundation have been working with Kazakhstan since 1998. During these years, more than 30 researchers from different specialties had the opportunity to study in Italy. Most of them were medical doctors (pediatric neurologists, ENT specialists, radiologists, oncologists, immunologists, gynecologists, ICU specialists, nephrologists). Medicine is a very vulnerable part of our society, and we need to have an opportunity for lifelong training and permanent advancement, like basic education. Prof. Alberto Ciferri trained us to be not only good specialists but also humans. He was not only a scientist but a philosopher and a humanist. He proposed a harmonic approach for people's lives and teaches people how to be happy. His exceptional view of humans and the meaning of life was very wise and deep. We will keep his words in our hearts and keep him in our minds, and we will continue to support the activity of Jepa-Limmat Foundation further.

In 2025 Following a request from the Director of the Consolata Hospital in Ikonda, the Board decides to expand the Tanzania project, with the awarding of two three-year specialization scholarships to Dr. Ndunguru Goodluck Zenobius and Dr. Masaba Geofrey Cosmas, in Surgery and Internal Medicine respectively. The two young doctors are currently interns at the Consolata Hospital in Ikonda, and their professional qualifications would enhance the surgical and internal medicine services that the hospital offers free of charge or at reduced rates to a large rural area on the outskirts of Tanzania.
