Jepa Courses
2. Current and past activities

The first course was given in Antigua Guatemala at the Educational Center of the Hermanos de Belem. During the first semester the students learned propaedeutic topics of economy, sociology, politics. During the second semester they used as a textbook a book published in 2019 by Cambridge Scholar Press, describing the socio economic evolution of 28 countries in the American continent (see Archive, Documents 6). They analyzed details of the socio-economic situation in a few selected countries of their interest. The approach they used for evaluating the parameters that describe the social (F) and the economic (G) situation is described in an article published by the Foundation on the official journal of UNESCO (see Archive, Document 6c). The students suggested suitable strategies for altering the values of G and F in a way that would allow the F/G ratio to attain values tending to 1, the theoretical value assumed to represent an ideal socio-economic balance.

During the COVID years it has been impossible to run full courses: only the propaedeutic classes were offered. We expect to resume the courses in 2023.
